Gunn’s “Superman” Runtime Comes In Short

Six weeks out from the film’s release, the runtime for James Gunn’s “Superman” has reportedly been revealed with the movie looking set to be the shortest modern Superman film.
DCFilmNews reports that according to international distributors, the film comes in at a current runtime of 122 minutes. That’s notably shorter than “Man of Steel” (143 minutes), “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” (152 minutes) and “Superman Returns” (154 minutes).
At last report, very early tracking projections have suggested the film is heading for a $175 million opening weekend in North America, which would be the best opening ever for a movie based on a DC Comics character.
The new film will follow Superman as he looks to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, guided by human kindness in a world that sees it as old-fashioned.
The movie stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/The Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl.
A recent toy set photo leak has confirmed the film is getting a PG-13 rating. “Superman” is set for release globally starting July 9th 2025 with a U.S. release on July 11th.
